The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) was established to continue the pioneering work of Dr. Samuel T. Orton, a neurologist who was one of the first to identify dyslexia as a neurological difference and, along with Anna Gillingham, develop effective teaching approaches. Since then, we have been a strong force in the educational and scientific communities.
