This calendar identifies the following IEB upcoming events:

November 8, 2012 – 6 pm – Webinar

Early Intervention for Reading  - a presentation of strategies focusing on how to help pre-readers prepare for reading.

Presenter: Regina G. Richards

Description: In this session, Regina, an educational therapist and teacher, will discuss basic strategies and principles that parents and pre-school teachers can use to help child enter the road toward reading success. She will include a discussion of many significant research principles as well as the practical and easy-to-implement strategies.

Fee: $10 for IDA members; $20 for others

Participants will receive a recording of the session afterwards, as well as the powerpoint

 

Transitioning to College for the Dyslexic, LD, & ADHD Student

Thursday December 13, 2012 – 6 pm – Webinar

Presenter: Sharon Teruya, Ph.D.

Description: In this session, Sharon Teruya, a learning disabilities specialist at Santa Monica College, will discuss various issues revolving around transitioning from High School to College, including selection, accommodations, documentation, technology, studying, learning styles, and much more.
