Newsletters - The Kids' Newsletter

Calling All Teachers! Calling All Parents! Calling All Kids!

Your child has the opportunity to submit a contribution for the Kids' Newsletter publishing by the Inland Empire Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. This newsletter is for and about kids with learning differences. This newsletter is published once a year and reflects the creative talents and knowledge of students with learning differences. Our mailing list reaches 1,500 people and we are growing! This is a great opportunity for students to have their work published and to realize they are not alone. It is also a terrific opportunity for teachers to show a published sample of students' work to their class.

Kids Newsletter

Submissions can be any creative work the student is especially proud of, including poems, essays, and artwork assignments created in the classroom during the school year!

Your permission is required to have your child's contribution published. You will receive a complementary copy of the newsletter if your child's contribution is selected. Teachers, get 50% off the registration fee for the next IDA Inland Empire Branch conference by submitting five contributions from your students with learning differences! Thank you for your support!

The children's newsletter was begun as a forum for children with learning differences to share information. This can be creative stories or artwork, or thought-provoking poems or essays describing their feelings or experiences. Students without learning differences may also submit poems or essays that will help others understand some issue related to students who do learn differently. We hope that parents and teachers will encourage their students to submit information. As an incentive, our branch will provide a thank you to any teacher or parent who provides relevant articles/artwork from at least five students. This "thank you" will be in the form of a voucher valid for 50% of an individual membership to IDA (either a renewal or new membership).
