In alignment with our purpose, IEB/IDA's website provides information, resources, referrals and data intended to assist people who are affected by the learning disability (LD), dyslexia. The website also provides information for professionals in the LD community and to others seeking information about dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities.
The Inland Empire Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IEB/IDA) respects the privacy of every individual who visits our website, sends us e-mail, completes surveys, or responds in the interactive areas provided, i.e., Bulletin Board. However, please remember that any information disclosed in the "Bulletin Board" and/or "Web Discussion Area" becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. While new technologies allow us to more efficiently serve our clients, we are committed to maintaining the privacy standards that are synonymous with our established and trusted name. This Privacy Policy states how IEB/IDA will collect information other than information disclosed in the "Bulletin Board" and/or "Web Discussion Area" and how IEB/IDA will use it.
Personal Information
Personal information from those who visit our website and communicate with us online is collected for the purpose of responding to specific questions, advising visitors of new online material, activities and events, and offering opportunities for contributing to local and national programs and research initiatives. Our web server recognizes visitor domain names for the purpose of analyzing website access and improving the content of our website. Personal information regarding your identity may be revealed in the event a complaint or legal action arises from any message posted by you.
Non-Personal Information
Sometimes, we may collect non-personal information about you that is anonymous data. The information we receive is for IEB/IDA's use only and is not disclosed to any other party except in aggregate form. IEB/IDA has no intention of collecting any personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. If a child has provided us with personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian, a parent or guardian should contact us at dyslexiainfo@gmail.com if they would like us to use reasonable effort to delete this information from our files.
E-Mail Requests
Individual requests e-mailed to IEB/IDA are kept strictly confidential. Personal data such as your e-mail address, telephone number, address, age and gender may be collected in order to respond to your specific request for information. Records regarding the nature of individual inquiries to IEB/IDA are used to create aggregate reports. IEB/IDA does not distribute your personal information to third parties except in the event a complaint or legal action arises from any message posted by you.
Surveys
We request your input to evaluate potential products, services and website features. The decision to be involved is completely yours. Also, we might e-mail you a survey, but your involvement is completely voluntary. We do not employ special tools or try to find any e-mail addresses that are not provided to us by you.

- Secured Data Transmissions for Online Transactions
When making financial transactions with us online (e.g. donations, online store orders, conference registration), we secure your information in transit to us and upon receipt in order to safeguard your personally identifiable information. IEB/IDA uses the industry standard encryption software, Secured Socket Layer (SSL). The URL address on your browser will change to "HTTPS" instead of "HTTP" when this security feature is invoked. Your browser may also display a lock symbol on its bottom task bar line to indicate invoked secure transmission.
- Detection of Unauthorized Intrusions (commonly called "hackers")
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, the web server system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. No other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits other than those uses identified in this policy. Intentional misuse of secure information will be investigated and may result in federal prosecution.
